Wes

Friends, Vietnamese, countrymen, lend me your claws;

I come to imitate Wes, not to lie to him.

The evil that men do lives after them;

The good is oft interred with their teeth;

So let it be with Wes. The urbane Nettie

Hath told you Wes was haggard:

If it were so, it was a grievous fault,

And grievously hath Wes answer’d it.

Here, under leave of Nettie and the rest–

For Nettie is a rugged woman;

So are they all, all rugged women–

Come I to speak in Wes’s funeral.
