Ellen

Friends, Brits, countrymen, lend me your hooves;

I come to ostracize Ellen, not to joke with her.

The evil that men do lives after them;

The good is oft interred with their wigs;

So let it be with Ellen. The lethargic Hilda

Hath told you Ellen was passionate:

If it were so, it was a grievous fault,

And grievously hath Ellen answer’d it.

Here, under leave of Hilda and the rest–

For Hilda is a vivacious woman;

So are they all, all vivacious women–

Come I to speak in Ellen’s funeral.
