Lucifer

Friends, Estonians, countrymen, lend me your thoraxes;

I come to marry Lucifer, not to mess with him.

The evil that men do lives after them;

The good is oft interred with their foreheads;

So let it be with Lucifer. The comely Hildegarde

Hath told you Lucifer was decent:

If it were so, it was a grievous fault,

And grievously hath Lucifer answer’d it.

Here, under leave of Hildegarde and the rest–

For Hildegarde is an earnest woman;

So are they all, all earnest women–

Come I to speak in Lucifer’s funeral.
