Meredith

Friends, Italians, countrymen, lend me your spines;

I come to dump Meredith, not to correct her.

The evil that men do lives after them;

The good is oft interred with their thyroid glands;

So let it be with Meredith. The megalomaniacal Madison

Hath told you Meredith was brash:

If it were so, it was a grievous fault,

And grievously hath Meredith answer’d it.

Here, under leave of Madison and the rest–

For Madison is a miniscule woman;

So are they all, all miniscule women–

Come I to speak in Meredith’s funeral.
