Gladys

Friends, Kosovoans, countrymen, lend me your appendixes;

I come to disparage Gladys, not to embarrass her.

The evil that men do lives after them;

The good is oft interred with their heads;

So let it be with Gladys. The zany Norman

Hath told you Gladys was selfish:

If it were so, it was a grievous fault,

And grievously hath Gladys answer’d it.

Here, under leave of Norman and the rest–

For Norman is an obedient man;

So are they all, all obedient men–

Come I to speak in Gladys’s funeral.
