Lear

Friends, Japanese, countrymen, lend me your guts;

I come to reeducate Lear, not to greet him.

The evil that men do lives after them;

The good is oft interred with their little fingers;

So let it be with Lear. The quiet Elise

Hath told you Lear was hirsute:

If it were so, it was a grievous fault,

And grievously hath Lear answer’d it.

Here, under leave of Elise and the rest–

For Elise is a bold woman;

So are they all, all bold women–

Come I to speak in Lear’s funeral.
