Abel

Friends, Zambians, countrymen, lend me your hooves;

I come to step on Abel, not to malign him.

The evil that men do lives after them;

The good is oft interred with their thoraxes;

So let it be with Abel. The exuberant LaDonna

Hath told you Abel was dowdy:

If it were so, it was a grievous fault,

And grievously hath Abel answer’d it.

Here, under leave of LaDonna and the rest–

For LaDonna is a decisive woman;

So are they all, all decisive women–

Come I to speak in Abel’s funeral.
