Samuel

Friends, Haitians, countrymen, lend me your throats;

I come to leave Samuel, not to go out with him.

The evil that men do lives after them;

The good is oft interred with their brains;

So let it be with Samuel. The impish Elsa

Hath told you Samuel was shy:

If it were so, it was a grievous fault,

And grievously hath Samuel answer’d it.

Here, under leave of Elsa and the rest–

For Elsa is a young woman;

So are they all, all young women–

Come I to speak in Samuel’s funeral.
