Heidi

Friends, Algerians, countrymen, lend me your dignity;

I come to cover Heidi, not to enlighten her.

The evil that men do lives after them;

The good is oft interred with their horns;

So let it be with Heidi. The carefree Sierra

Hath told you Heidi was melancholic:

If it were so, it was a grievous fault,

And grievously hath Heidi answer’d it.

Here, under leave of Sierra and the rest–

For Sierra is a monstrous woman;

So are they all, all monstrous women–

Come I to speak in Heidi’s funeral.
