Clarisse

Friends, Belizians, countrymen, lend me your brains;

I come to reeducate Clarisse, not to split up with her.

The evil that men do lives after them;

The good is oft interred with their tongues;

So let it be with Clarisse. The depraved Ahmed

Hath told you Clarisse was taciturn:

If it were so, it was a grievous fault,

And grievously hath Clarisse answer’d it.

Here, under leave of Ahmed and the rest–

For Ahmed is an amiable man;

So are they all, all amiable men–

Come I to speak in Clarisse’s funeral.
