Fourteen and Forever
fourteen and we were perfect
together best friends and there was love
movies and mountain dew and pizza.
fourteen and nothing could change.
fifteen and we started again
the golden days, leaves falling
a new house and new responsibilities
fifteen and we met new people
different perspectives on everything
confusion and pain and other interests.
fifteen we were afraid of losing each other.
sixteen and none of us saw each other
hearts broken and vows made
never to fall like that again.
sixteen, independent and cruel
we hated the thought
of seeing each others' face
sixteen and we didn't care what happened
who cares who sees us where
who cares what we do.
sixteen and we moved on forever.
seventeen and i see your face in his.
seventeen and i say the same things
and so do you.
seventeen and i have to start over
again.
